Suffering from acne? Find out about a therapy that helps beat the acne blues.

Galderma research and development is an international effort, with state-of-the-art facilities around the world. The primary research center is located in Europe's largest high-technology park at Sophia-Antipolis in southeast France.

Worldwide, more than 300 skilled scientists and staff are committed to R&D. Of these, 50 are dedicated exclusively to research into the discovery of new molecules. This multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team focuses on discovery and development of new medications for dermatological disease. To date, our research is responsible for more than 1,500 patents, 120 inventions and over 600 publications.

At Galderma R&D facilities, modern drug-design tools are used with molecular, cellular and in vivo bioassay systems to identify safe and effective new therapies. Strong working relationships between our scientists and the world's leading dermatologists help research become reality.

A major breakthrough for our company was the synthesis of adapalene, the first new retinoid molecule in more than 20 years. This led to the development of our most successful drug, Differin®, which has become the leading topical retinoid for the treatment of acne vulgaris.

Galderma’s R&D effort also includes the licensing and acquisition of dermatology drugs in various stages of development.
