Preparation Advice

Candidates are likely to speak with several different Galderma employees in addition to the hiring manager as they are moved forward in the hiring process. It is important to note that each employee you may speak with plays a valuable role in our decision making process. Interviews may be conducted in a variety of forms including by phone and in person.

Galderma highly values the integrity and equity of our recruiting system. Specific information is gathered at every stage in our hiring process. You may be asked to provide appropriate documentation to support information you have provided as part of the interview process.

We will make every effort to keep you as informed as possible as we make our decisions and take appropriate action. You will most likely be contacted by phone, email, or mail with the outcome of our decisions.

Because of our detailed interview approach, you will gain a deeper insight to life at Galderma as you progress through the interview process. At the same, we are carefully assessing your unique qualifications and collaborating with employees who have played a part in your interview experience to reach a decision.

Just as you may be anxious to take the next step towards a new career opportunity, we are anxious to find the best qualified candidate for each specific position. This decision is equally important to both you and Galderma. The timeline to fill each position depends on the current needs of our business. In most cases we are looking to fill the position as soon as possible. We are also sensitive to your timeframe requirements. We do our absolute best to balance this delicate situation. We ask for your patience during this process.

  • The Basics
Preparation should begin before you identify a position and submit your personal profile. Your resume often serves as a ‘first impression’ for prospective employers. Before you begin to send out your resume, carefully review the information you have provided. You may want to ask yourself some of the following questions:
  • Would someone outside of my current industry be able to clearly understand my present responsibilities and duties?
  • Have I included relevant information concerning my past promotions, awards, leadership roles, and/or increased responsibilities I have been given?
  • Have I put my career accomplishments in logical order?
  • Do I have supporting documentation for the information I have provided on my resume should I be asked?
  • Have I included the most relevant and most critical information concerning my past experiences?
  • Can I make revisions to limit any unnecessary information without sacrificing the content?
  • Have I asked someone else to review my resume and share their feedback?
  • Do I feel that my resume is an accurate representation of my overall experience and qualifications the specific position I am applying for?
Take time to carefully review the information concerning the specific job you are considering. Keep in mind that prospective employers are seeking candidates who are seen as most qualified for the each position based on the stated experience, skills, and requirements in the Job Description. You should consider positions you feel most closely match your skills and experiences.
Before your interview over the phone or in person, make sure you’ve done your homework. When you are preparing for the interview make sure you have a full understanding of the position you will be interviewing for and the responsibilities that are expected of someone in this position. Spend time researching the products you would be promoting, the disease state, and your potential customer base. The interviewer may ask questions relating to this material.

Take time to review the information listed in the company website. You will find valuable information about the company history, current business activities, company news, skin conditions and treatments. It may also be a good idea to gather industry specific information. This will give you a better understanding of the key players, major competitors, and the dynamic environment of dermatology pharmaceutical sales.
The types of questions you may be asked in an interview vary depending on the job you are interviewing for. At Galderma, we will be exploring more information about your professional experiences and unique situations you have faced in your career. We are also looking for a better understanding of your current competencies and your potential to grow.

You may want to prepare by thinking of some personal examples that highlight your capabilities. It may be helpful to think about examples concerning critical situations you may have faced or times when you went above and beyond what was required. Although there is no way to predict exactly what you will be asked during an interview, this practice might be useful to help organize your thoughts and to feel more comfortable relaying information about yourself. Be confident in your abilities, and above all be honest with the information you share. You can expect the same from us.
  • Allow yourself appropriate time to arrive at the interview location at least 15 minutes early.
  • Dress business professional.
  • Bring any supporting documentation that may be needed or that was requested prior to the interview.
  • Bring a notepad to take notes as needed.
  • Come prepared with any follow up questions you may have.
  • Be positive, be relaxed, and be yourself.
